Ghanaian Chef makes an audacious cook-a-thon record attempt

A woman in Ghana is attempting to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest time spent cooking. Abdul Razak Failatu started cooking at midnight on Jan 1,2024 and plans to carry on for seven days.

She’s the first Ghanaian to attempt the cook-a-thon. Her first plan was to stop on January 5, but just after her announcement, a Ugandan woman cooked for a straight 144 hours over six days, which is yet to be officially confirmed by the GWR.

Recently, Irish chef Alan Fisher broke the original cooking record set by Nigerian Hilda Baci. Abdul Razak Failatu’s cook-a-thon comes just days after another Ghanaian woman sang continuously for 126 hours to break a GWR.
