Ghana’s Audit Service Chief Gets Contract Extension

In a move that has been widely  welcomed by the industry, the Audit Service Board has announced that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended the contract of the Audit Service Chief, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, for a further two years.

The decision, which was made after a thorough review of Mr. Asiedu, ‘s performance, recognizes his outstanding leadership and contributions to the audit service during his tenure.

Under Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu’s leadership, the audit service has undergone significant reforms, resulting in improved efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of service delivery. His commitment to excellence and integrity has earned him the respect of stakeholders and the public alike.

Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu was due for statutory retirement from service on 1st August, 2024 but will now have to stay put for the next two years.

The contract extension is a testament to the president’s confidence in Mr. Asiedu’s ability to continue driving the audit service forward and achieving its strategic objectives.

The Service congratulated the Auditor General on the extension of his appointment and pledged to remain committed to upholding the highest standards of auditing and service delivery.

The contract extension takes effect immediately, and Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu will continue to lead the audit service until 1st August,2026.
