Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially confirmed that the recent singing marathon attempt by Afua Asantewaa Aduonum was not successful
The Ghanaian broadcast journalist Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, who exceeded the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual, has said she will soon announce her next line of action following her disqualification.
On Sunday 24 December 2023 Aduonum began an attempt in Ghana to break the longest singing marathon (or singathon), completing her attempt to overturn the Guinness World Record on Friday 29 December by singing for an unmatched 126 hours and 52 minutes.
But Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially confirmed that the singing marathon attempt by Afua Asantewaa Aduonum was not successful.
Unfortunately Afua’s Guinness World Records attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful, but we hope that she will make another attempt soon. We’ve seen how inspirational it has been for her fans. The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority…

Reacting to the development on Facebook on Friday (23 February), Aduonum commended Ghanaians for their love and support.
“The news of the outcome of my Singathon attempt came [a] few minutes [ago] as I was preparing to host a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network attended by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” Afua Asantewaa wrote.
“I [will] announce my next line of action in a few days. Thank you all for your love and support. When life hands you lemons, turn them to lemonade. Success is sweetest when snatched out of the jaws of defeat,” she said.
